      Paulding County Courthouse

      The present courthouse was built in 1892. The building was renovated 1956, 1984-85, and 1991. A new three-story, red brick courthouse annex was completed in 1990.

      Developed by The Friends of Civil War - Paulding County, this tour brings a deeper understanding of Dallas/Paulding County's major role in the Civil War by taking you through 14 notable sites in our area.

      Pauling County Museum
      The "Little Red Schoolhouse", circa 1860, is home to the museum which focuses on the rich history of our area. Take a "Trip Back in Time" at the Museum today! Open Tues., Thurs., and Saturdays from noon until 4:00 p.m.

      Pickett's Mill Battlefield
      Spend the day walking the battlescarred trails, perusing the fascinating museum and chatting with the informative Interpretive Rangers. Pickett's Mill is one of the best preserved battlefields in the nation, holding living history commemorations and reenactments of the May 1864 battles twice a year. Hiking trails and picnic areas are also available.

      The Ragsdale Inn

      Silver Comet Trail

      Built on a historic railroad line, this "linear park" is the ideal destination for walkers, runners, cyclists, horseback riders, roller skaters and nature lovers. Our section of the 60-mile trail is just over 17 miles and includes two unique "must see" attractions - the Brushy Mountain Tunnel and the breathtaking 126-foot high Pumpkin Vine Creek Trestle.

      Southeastern Speedway Drag Strip
      A thrilling outing for those with a need for speed! Southeastern Dragway opened its gates for the first race on July 4, 1955. The NHRA recognizes Southeastern Dragway as the oldest dragstrip in the southeastern United States (division 2).
